I'll just keep this topic open so that you can be told of any improvements / changes / tweaks to the site...

Just a couple I've done over the last couple of days:

1 - Changed button graphics across the forum. Simply to make them all part of our blue/orange branding. These are the buttons at the top and bottom of each of your posts, and the "active" buttons for 'new topic' and 'post reply'.
This is purely cosmetic, and just to make the site look more coherent.

2 - Made profile viewing restricted. The standard forum code setup means that anyone who is not a registered member can still view your profile.
I'm not happy with this so have installed a hack which means that only registered forum users can view anybody's profile or be able to see / use the email, msn, pm details that they show. I hope you find this a useful 'privacy' feature.

That's it for now.
Cheers
gb

suggestions: your parents, your grandparents, distant relatives, your former boyfriends, your dentist, the guy you met on holiday last summer, the girl from kindergarten you always hated and never spoke to and now have a great reason to talk to ("hey, did you know that there's this awesome motorcycle rider called alvaro bautista who..."), the cabdriver who brought you home from that aweful party three weeks ago, your gardener (he will feel much more appreciated!), your plumber, the awesome guys at the computer store who rescued your laptop, the entire mcdonalds staff and much more. if you need anymore ideas, just ask!

I'm very proud of our cards (especially now I've fixed a howling error with the code) - so please do feel free to send/pimp them to friends and complete strangers alike

UPDATE 08/12/07

A couple of hopefully useful tweaks for our Spanish friends...

1 - Spanish language packs installed (although these only translate the main forum code - NOT actual posts or messages) - This can be changed in your "Profile".

2 - Google Translation for Spanish introduced on all pages. This appears just beneath the main forum navigation links, with the words "Translate into Spanish / Verter al Espanol" and English & Spanish flags. This uses Google's translation tools to translate the entire site into Spanish.

These features aren't perfect of course, but we hope they help anyway! 8)

They are a couple of things we're introducing - along with another one pretty soon - that we hope will give the Spanish members of our forum who aren't confident of their English a better chance of enjoying what we have here, and maybe joining in.
Although it's an international forum and English is *the* language it will always be run in, we reckon that as there are Spanish fans looking in - and joining - that it'd be nice to make an effort to bring us all a bit closer together 8)

Plus it's interesting anyway.
And - hey - if you click on the button, you'll see your name is "El Fizz" - how cool is that
