PETITION MINICHAMPS TO MAKE BAUTISTA DIECAST MODELS I'd like to ask as many of you as possible to spare a few minutes to write an email to Minichamps (a German company called Pauls Model Art) to petition them to produce Alvaro's Aspar Aprilia 125cc Championship Winning bike from 2006. And possibly more Bati bikes from 2007 and 2008 too... This is the email address: info@minichamps.deI have written to them asking if they would consider making Alvaro's 2006 Championship-winning Aprilia 125. My reasoning to them is that he is not only already hugely popular in Spain, but also gaining popularity quickly around the world and that he is without doubt going to be one of the sport's superstars, and that it would make sense to pick up on that and to start producing models of his rides. I also asked them to consider doing his 2007 Aprilia 250, and perhaps more importantly this year's Aprilia 250 - as vice champion. Anyway - please drop them a line, as much in your own words as possible as it doesn't want to appear to be some automated spamming! But I'd certainly appreciate you helping me push them on this, and if you can encourage as many friends / MotoGP fans as possible to mail them too, that would be excellent. (*If you think it would help you in writing your email to see the full text of the email I sent them, just PM me. Please just make sure you avoid actual *copying*!)Cheers gb ********************************************************************* UPDATESome other contacts to try... Definitely going to do that. When it's a German company I could actually write them in German, couldn't I? Visited their site yesterday, but it was hard to even find a proper list of which models they already produced. Also, we could mention that his fanclub is the biggest after Valentino Rossi and that we already have visitors from 120 countries, so that should give them something to calculate. It would also be cool to have our members from various countries write them, so that they can see for themselves how far to the world they could reach with some more Alvaro models. Btw: Is the 2005 model actually from Minichamps or was it produced by a different company? I think my package said IXO or something, but I'm not entirely sure. Was it an official Minichamps model?

The 2005 model is part of the IXO Junior range. (Most of those other 1/24 ones are by Altaya). Yeah, the Minichamps site isn't really easy to root around is it... But a big yes to those other points - also I've asked Michaela if she can maybe have a look at the translation of our petition messge so we can also share it with the fanclub and some of the Bati / Aspar pages on Facebook etc...?

Sounds like a very good idea to me. The more, the merrier. Just sent them my Email in German and I tried to sound very professional and considerate, even though I would have liked to just scream at them with capitalisation and coerce them to produce a diecast for every year including 2002 and the CEV and the Movistar Honda Cup...

Have also now posted a topic on the (Grand Prix Legends) Leighs Diecast Forum. Hopefully a whole different set of people will see it there.

I will also shamelessly copy your message and plug it on my Blogs. The more people see it, the better.

I cant promise I'll get that translation tonight. This is something that I'll have to rely on my dictionary on for the best part I guess as Im not familiar with the possible translations concerning models, diecasts etc. But I'll try my best and send it you asap G.
I wouldn't start a whole collection I guess but would certainly want to have the Bati ones.

Your endless trust in my Spanish-speaking abilities makes me laugh... Are you sure that last time it wasn't the alcohol that made you think my spanish's amazing?
